3 Sena UBT MPs skip key Uddhav meeting amid 'Operation Tiger' buzz

Three out of nine Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs skipped a key meeting at Matoshree, Uddhav Thackeray's residence on Sunday amid buzz over 'Operation Tiger' launched by Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. Two MPs were reportedly unreachable while one MP informed that his son is admitted in hospital. Earlier, reports stated that six-seven Sena UBT MPs are in touch with Shinde.

2 girls abducted, raped by minors, walk 5 km after assault in MP

Two 16-year-old girls in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district allegedly walked nearly 5 km home after being abducted and raped by two minor boys, police said. The victims were reportedly threatened with death and abandoned in a secluded area after the assault. Their families alerted police after learning about the incident. A case under the POCSO Act has been registered.

2 men charged over theft of England's equipment amid FIFA WC in US

Two men from Texas, Mustafa Salik and Erfan Kamal, have been charged with one felony count each of receiving stolen property after England's equipment was stolen amid the FIFA World Cup 2026. Prosecutors in Missouri charged the duo with the Class D felony, which carries a maximum seven-year prison sentence. The bond was set at $75,000 for each of them.

US judge punishes lawyers, cancels trial after both sides used AI to write briefs

A US judge cancelled a civil trial after finding that lawyers on both sides submitted AI-generated court filings containing fake legal citations. The judge fined all four attorneys between $1,000 and $3,500 and barred two from practising in that district for two years. A lawyer who first spotted the AI-generated errors called the episode a "comedy of errors".

His life cost just 10 Omani Riyal: Seamen's union as Indian sailor dies on ship after falling ill

Forward Seamen's Union of India (FSUI) has shared a post after the death of 35-year-old Second Officer Nishanth Uirthanathan on MT Celestial off the coast of Oman. "A young Indian seafarer's life cost just 10 Omani Riyal (₹2,473) — the medical visa/evacuation fee...[He died] due to shipowner negligence," FSUI said. FSUI had earlier said that medical evacuation was delayed.
