Coin toss happens twice in IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 due to confusion

The coin was tossed twice in the IPL 2026 Qualifier 2. GT captain Shubman Gill thought he won the toss in the first attempt, however, referee Prakash Bhatt said he did not hear RR captain Riyan Parag's call properly, after which the toss was redone and won by RR. RR decided to bat first in the match.

Woman strangled to death by husband, his girlfriend in Rohtak

A 34-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by her husband and his girlfriend at their rented accommodation in Nehru Colony, Rohtak, on Friday. The victim was identified as Chinki. The accused had brought his girlfriend to the house on Thursday night. Chinki reportedly objected to her presence, leading to a heated argument between them.

Canada slips into technical recession

Canada's economy contracted in first quarter of 2026 on an annualised basis, data showed, making it two consecutive quarters of annualised decline, which is called a technical recession. However, on quarterly basis, first quarter GDP was unchanged against a decline in fourth quarter of last year. GDP declined at annualised rate of ​0.1% in the first quarter, Statistics Canada said.
