IMD warns of hotter June

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of above-normal day and night temperatures across most parts of the country in June. "There is likely to be less rainfall this June, so higher temperatures are expected," IMD chief Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said. IMD has officially revised its seasonal rainfall forecast downwards to 90% of the Long Period Average.

SC allows Vinesh to participate in Asian Games trials, says 'It's not medical college admission'

The Supreme Court has allowed wrestler Vinesh Phogat to participate in Asian Games 2026 selection trials. The court said, "These aren’t medical college admissions, these are national and international sports," adding that courts cannot interfere in such matters. AAP leader injured after being shot in Amritsar over parking dispute

Two people, including AAP leader and Ward 42 in-charge Jaipal Singh, were injured after being shot in Punjab's Amritsar over a parking dispute between two groups. The confrontation reportedly began when Jaipal Singh allegedly parked his vehicle outside the house of a person from the other group. A 29-year-old ex-train driver named Liu Ziyu in China used AI to create a 3.5-minute short film, helping him land a job offer from Hollywood's AI filmmaker PJ Accetturo, SCMP reported. Ziyu spent 10 days making 'Zombie Scavenger', an Atompunk-style love story between a robot and a mannequin-like doll inspired by WALL-E. He spent just ₹42,000 to make the film.

Japan bans photos at beach volleyball competition after spectators take 'malicious' pics

The Japan Volleyball Association (JVA) said recording images on any device would be prohibited at the Tonarino round of the country's beach volleyball tour for men and women, taking place on Saturday and Sunday.
