US bans drones over FIFA WC sites, violators to face up to $100,000 fines

The US Federal Aviation Administration said it'll ban drones over FIFA World Cup 2026 matches and related fan events nationwide to strengthen security. On match days, all aircraft operations, including drones, will be prohibited within a three-nautical-mile radius and up to 3,000 feet above stadiums. Violators could face fines of up to $100,000, criminal charges, and confiscation of the drone.

IPL's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit warned players and support staff against using smart glasses, sunglasses and goggles with communication and recording technology in restricted areas on match days. ACSU flagged that such devices can live-stream, send and receive messages, and make audio-video calls. Several companies are marketing smart eyewear to IPL players and team personnel, it noted.

Company mistakenly spends ₹4,800 crore in 30 days, simply because they forgot to cap AI use

An AI consultant told Axios that one of their clients mistakenly spent $500 million (nearly ₹4,800 crore) in just 30 days. According to the consultant, this happened as the client forgot to limit the usage of Claude's AI chatbot by employees. This comes shortly after Microsoft reportedly cancelled most of its Claude Code licenses, partly due to their costs.

She refused to pay drug dealer: Father of Indian killed in Canada

Vidhi Kalpeshbhai Megha, a 22-year-old student from Gujarat, was stabbed to death by a drug dealer in Canada’s Niagara region after she refused to pay him money, her father claimed. Mosquitoes can learn to love insect repellent: Study

A study by France's University of Tours found mosquitoes can learn to love DEET, a widely used insect repellent, associating it with food and even preferring to bite people sprayed with it. Using Pavlovian conditioning, researchers trained yellow fever mosquitoes to see DEET as feeding signal. Around 60% of conditioned mosquitoes attempted to bite when exposed to DEET alone.
