Today's Chanakya has predicted that the BJP will form the government in West Bengal by winning 192 (± 11) seats, way more than the majority mark of 148. TMC is expected to win 100 (± 11) seats, it predicted on Thursday, a day after several exit polls predicted the BJP's win. The results will be declared on May 4.

Vodafone Idea gets ₹23,600 crore relief as govt cuts AGR dues to ₹64,046 crore

Vodafone Idea on Thursday said Department of Telecommunications has finalised its adjusted gross revenue dues at ₹64,046 crore as of December 31, 2025. The figure is lower than the earlier provisional estimate of ₹87,695 crore, marking a relief of ₹23,649 crore. It will be required to make minimum annual payments of ₹100 crore over four years from FY32 to FY35.

Where Indians spent their dollar remittances abroad in February?

Indians remitted $2,338.60 million abroad in February 2026 under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS), about a 19% increase from a year earlier, according to RBI data. Most of the money was spent on travel ($1,307.03 million), followed by maintenance of close relatives ($266.18 million) and investment in equity/debt ($265.99 million). Over $51 million was spent on buying immovable property.

Railways special commandos to guard Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express

Over 21 security personnel, including RPF commandos, popularly known as CORAS (commandos for railway safety), will guard the Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express launched by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday, an official said. 4 people die, over 15 others missing as cruise boat overturns in MP

At least four people drowned, and over dozen others remain missing after a tourist cruise boat carrying 35-40 passengers capsized in the Bargi Dam reservoir in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur.
