When is a heatwave declared?

The threshold for a heatwave is met when the maximum temperature of a weather station reaches at least 40°C in the plains, 37°C in the coastal areas and at least 30°C in the hilly regions. Along with this, departure from normal should be at least 4.5°C to 6.4°C. A severe heatwave is declared if departure from normal temperature exceeds 6.4°C.

What is Russian Progress 95 spacecraft that has docked with ISS?

A Russian uncrewed cargo spacecraft, Progress 95, has successfully docked with the ISS. "The spacecraft is delivering about three tons of food, fuel, and supplies for the Expedition 74 crew," NASA said. "It will remain docked to the orbiting laboratory for about six months," NASA added. Expedition 74 mission, running from December 2025 to mid-2026, currently has 7 crew members.

It showed that the people who're most exposed are those earning 47% more than the average and are four times more likely to hold a graduate's degree. FSSAI proposes ban on plastic layer in pan masala packaging

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a draft notification to curb the use of plastic in pan masala packaging. "Sachets using plastic material shall not be used for storing, packing or selling gutkha, tobacco and pan masala," it said.
