Armed robbery, it's return of pirates: Iran as US seizes tankers

Iran criticised US after its forces seized two tankers allegedly carrying Iranian oil and called the action "armed robbery on the high seas" and a violation of international law. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said the world is witnessing the "return of the pirates". The US defended the move and said it was done under court-approved warrants.

The Mubaraz became the first LNG shipment to cross Strait of Hormuz since the Iran war began, Bloomberg reported.
