Fossils exposed by rains in TN turn out to be 12,000-yr-old relics

Fossil sites exposed by torrential rains in Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi in 2023 have turned out to be Fossil Bed dating back to the Holocene period (8,000-12,000 years), Union Minister Bhupender Yadav said. "This discovery is important because it helps us better understand India’s ancient wildlife, environment, and climate," he added. The study was conducted by the Zoological Survey of India.

MobiKwik receives RBI nod for NBFC licence, to set up lending arm

One MobiKwik Systems Ltd said it has received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as a non-banking financial company (NBFC). The move enables the firm to expand its lending operations within a regulated framework. The company will set up a wholly owned subsidiary, MobiKwik Financial Services Private Limited (MFSPL), to house its lending business.

IndiGo to pay ₹1.19 lakh to passengers for losing bag with sacred items

Noida, Greater Noida school timings revised amid heatwave

Child dies, 60 others fall ill after eating pani puri in Jharkhand

At least one child died and over 60 people fell ill in two panchayats of Jharkhand's Giridih after suspected food poisoning linked to the consumption of pani puri, officials said. Family of 4 dies in Mumbai after consuming watermelon, fruit sent for forensic analysis

A family of four, including parents and their two minor daughters, died at Mumbai's JJ Hospital after consuming watermelon at around 1 am. They had hosted guests earlier, who left after having dinner at 10.30 pm and showed no symptoms. The watermelon, not dinner, may have caused the suspected poisoning, police said. The watermelon has been sent for forensic analysis.
