How headcount at Indian IT majors changed in Q4?

Indian IT major Infosys' headcount fell by 8,440 in the March quarter (Q4) of FY26 compared to the previous quarter, while Tech Mahindra saw a decline of 1,993 employees. Meanwhile, HCLTech, Wipro and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) added 802, 135 and 2,356 employees, respectively. TCS plans to hire 25,000 freshers in FY27, while Infosys plans to hire 20,000.

UP man dies by suicide after allegedly killing three-year-old son

A man in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi allegedly died by suicide after killing his child. Prem Singh was found hanging inside a locked room, while his three-year-old son Bharat lay dead in a pool of blood nearby. Police suspect Prem killed his son before taking his own life after returning home drunk from a wedding. Bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi took to X on Saturday to claim that the girl who died in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur was raped and murdered, demanding a "high-level investigation" in the case. Palestinians in central Gaza are voting in municipal elections on Sunday, the first local elections in 20 years. The last poll in the territory was 2006 legislative election, won by Hamas. However, Hamas was not allowed to run in the local election. India's peak power demand hit a record high of 252.07 GW on Friday amid intense heatwave, which pushed up use of cooling devices like ACs, according to power ministry data. US to let Venezuela pay for Maduro's defence in drug trafficking case

DC pacer Lungi Ngidi is in stable condition after suffering head injury during the team's IPL match against PBKS in Delhi on Saturday.
