Construction of cricket stadium for LA Olympics 2028 begins

Construction of the cricket stadium to be used at the Los Angeles Olympics 2028 has begun, the ICC said. The temporary venue at the Fairgrounds in Pomona, Southern California, will host competitions featuring six teams each in the men's and women's events in the 20-over ​format. The venue will also host three Major League Cricket matches in July this year.

K'taka student writes SSLC exams on stretcher, achieves 1st class

Kusuma, a resident of Karnataka's Kolar, secured a first-class result on Thursday after writing her SSLC exams while lying on a stretcher. She had suffered a serious health issue during the examination period and was brought to the exam centre daily by ambulance, before being taken into the exam hall on a stretcher. Four over ground workers (OGWs), including a woman, were arrested in Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly providing logistical support to the terrorists. The police said that one hand grenade, 15 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, four mobile phones and some cash were recovered from their possession.
