The sharp increase in visa rejection rates for Indian students in key markets like US and Australia have been reported by international student recruitment firm Shorelight. The firm said 61% Indian students were denied US' most popular student visa type (F-1) in 2025, up from 53% in 2024. In Australia, 40% of Indian applications were reportedly refused in early 2026.

Both the Houses of Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, were today adjourned sine die. With this, the Budget Session of Parliament, which commenced on January 28, came to an end. Lok Sabha registered 93% productivity during the Budget Session. This comes a day after Centre's bill which linked implementing women reservation with delimitation failed to pass Lok Sabha test.
