Govt allows 15 banks to import gold, silver till March 2029

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has allowed 15 banks to import gold and silver till March 31, 2029. Axis Bank, SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bank of India and Yes Bank are among those on the list issued on Friday. Earlier reports said several tonnes of the metals were stuck at customs as banks awaited an official order.
