Iran-linked tankers take new route to cross Strait of Hormuz amid blockade by US: Reports

At least two Iran-linked tankers transited the Strait of Hormuz through a possibly new route as the US' blockade of the crucial waterway entered the third day, said reports. The tankers - G Summer and Hong Lu - have been sanctioned by the US. The vessels came from the UAE and sailed near Iran's Larak and Qeshm islands.

Apple, Google host dozens of 'nudify' apps despite policy bans

A review by Tech Transparency Project found that Apple and Google app stores host dozens of "nudify" apps that use AI to generate obscene images of people. The review of the two app stores found 55 nudify apps on Play Store and 47 on App Store. The offering of such apps comes despite both companies having policies prohibiting such content.

Telangana govt releases caste survey; backward classes largest group at 46.25%

Telangana government released findings of its 2024-25 caste survey covering about 3.55 crore people. Backward Classes emerged as the largest segment at 46.25%, followed by Scheduled Castes (SC) at 17.43% and Scheduled Tribes (ST) at 10.45%. Total Muslim population stands at 12.56%, of which 10.08% are Muslim Backward Classes and 2.48% are other Muslim classes. Other Castes stand at 13.31%.

SC rejects plea against EC's transfer of IAS officers in Bengal
