ONGC begins gas monetisation in Daman amid Middle East supply woes

ONGC began gas monetisation from its $1-billion Daman Upside Development Project (DUDP), located 180 km northwest of Mumbai in the Arabian Sea. Gas monetisation involves extracting and processing natural gas for commercial viability. The gas was sent from offshore Platform B-12-24P to the Hazira plant in Gujarat, ONGC said. This comes amid supply disruptions due to the Middle East war.

Retired Pakistan Air Force Air Marshal Masood Akhtar had accepted in May that India destroyed a PAF AWACS aircraft during Operation Sindoor. AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) is a flying radar station, mounted on a large aircraft platform, used to detect, track, and monitor aerial and surface threats over vast distances. Iran's heavy water plant severely damaged, not operational: IAEA
