Rupee nears 94-mark against US dollar, hits new record low amid Gulf war

The Indian rupee hit a new all-time low of 93.94 against the US dollar in early trade on Monday, PTI reported. The currency had crossed the 93 mark against the dollar last week. Ongoing Middle East tensions and the resulting rise in oil prices have put pressure on the rupee. Sensex and Nifty also opened in the red on Monday.

Brent crude surges to $112 per barrel, up by 60% since war began

Brent crude prices have surged by around 60% since the beginning of the Middle East conflict. The prices rose to around $112 per barrel on Monday from approximately $70 per barrel before the conflict.
