Iran attacks oil refinery in Saudi Arabia

Iran launched an aerial attack on oil giant Saudi Aramco's SAMREF refinery in Yanbu, an industry source told Reuters, adding that there was minimal impact. The attack comes after Iran attacked world's largest LNG production facility in Qatar. Iran had earlier issued an evacuation warning to several oil facilities across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar.

US Defence Department has sought over $200 billion from US Congress to fund ongoing war in Iran, according to the Washington Post. If approved, the US expenditure would surpass more than half of Iran's annual gross domestic product (GDP), which stood at $356.51 billion in 2025.
