Indian carriers resume flights from Riyadh, 1,50,457 return from Gulf since war began: Govt

The Ministry of Civil Aviation said on Friday that the flight operations by Indian carriers to/from Riyadh have resumed from March 12, adding that 1,50,457 air passengers have returned from the Gulf countries to India since the war began. "Passengers are advised to remain in contact with their respective airlines for the latest updates regarding flight schedules," the ministry added.

Russia making extra ₹1,380 crore/day from oil sales amid Iran war: Report

Russia is making $150-million (over ₹1,380 crore) revenue per day from its oil sales after oil prices skyrocketed amid the Middle East war, reported FT. Russia has so far earned nearly $1.3-1.9 billion windfall from taxes on oil exports after Strait of Hormuz's closure, the report stated. Russian government could receive $3.3-4.9 billion in additional revenue by March-end, it added.

Govt pushes kerosene, coal use amid LPG crisis despite its campaigns to replace them

Amid the energy crisis in Middle East, the Centre has released 48,000 kilolitre of additional kerosene for states as an alternative to LPG, PTI reported. It also asked environmental bodies to allow the use of coal, RDF pellets and biomass in restaurants and hotels, an official said. This comes despite the Centre's years-old campaigns to replace them with LPG.

Sales of pagers, walkie-talkies surge amid mobile internet outages in Russia

Apple cuts China App Store commission fees after govt pressure

Indian killed in attack on oil ship by Iran was engineer from Mumbai

Mumbai resident Devanandan Prasad Singh, serving as the Additional Chief Engineer (Superintendent) aboard the US-owned oil tanker Safesea Vishnu, died on Wednesday following Iran's attack on the vessel near Iraq.
