Parts of Bengaluru to face power cut on Sunday, list of affected areas released

Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) announced that several parts of Bengaluru will face a power outage from 9 am to 5 pm on Sunday due to emergency maintenance at the SRS Peenya substation. Govt to likely end cash payments at toll plazas from April 1

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is planning to completely discontinue cash transactions at toll plazas across the country from April 1. "Post implementation, all toll payments at National Highway fee plazas will be processed exclusively through digital modes using FASTag or UPI," it added. Notably, vehicles without a valid FASTag are charged twice the applicable fee in cash.
