Galgotias University buys Chinese robot dog, calls it 'aspirational India's symbol'; trolled

UP's Galgotias University bought Chinese company Unitree's robotic dog, labelled it as 'Orion' and unveiled it at the India AI Impact Summit as part of its ₹350-crore AI ecosystem. The college's professor called the robot "aspirational India's symbol". The university was called "Fokatiya (useless) University" in a Community Note when it clarified it didn't build the robot after getting trolled.

Light rain lashes parts of Delhi

Several parts of Delhi received light rainfall on Wednesday morning, bringing a drop in temperatures. The IMD issued a yellow alert, forecasting light rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across Delhi and nearby NCR cities, including Gurugram and Faridabad. It added that the skies are expected to remain generally cloudy, with intermittent spells of very light rain through the day.

Maharashtra govt revokes 5% quota for SEBC Muslims

The Maharashtra government has revoked the proposed 5% quota for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) Muslim communities. The quota approved through an ordinance by the Congress-NCP government just before the 2014 Assembly elections collapsed because the ordinance wasn't made into a law. Earlier, the Bombay High Court had stayed the government jobs reservation part of the quota.

Assam govt approves 3% quota for 'tea tribes' in Class I, II jobs

The Assam Cabinet on Tuesday approved a 3% quota for the "tea tribes" and Adivasi community in the Class I and Class II government jobs days before the state Assembly elections. US court accepts Nikhil Gupta guilty plea in plot to murder Pannun

Salman's father Salim Khan put on ventilator after surgery, condition is stable: Doctor

Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, father of Salman Khan, has undergone surgery and is now being kept on a ventilator, Dr Jalil Parkar from Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital said. Global uncertainty hit an all-time high in third quarter of 2025 at 1,06,862.2, according to World Uncertainty Index (WUI) data.
