Metro pillar collapses in Maharashtra; 1 dead, 3 injured

At least one person died, and three others were injured when part of a pillar from an under-construction metro rail line collapsed onto vehicles on Saturday in Maharashtra's Mulund area, officials said. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority reported that a section of the parapet fell from a height and struck a passing auto-rickshaw. The incident occurred around 12:15 pm.

Man awarded ₹226 crore as cooking spray leaves him with rare lungs disease in US

A US man has been awarded $25 million (₹226 crore) after developing a lung condition that he claims was caused by a cooking spray. The product was PAM cooking spray which earlier contained diacetyl chemical. In 2022, he filed lawsuit claiming that the exposure caused him to develop bronchiolitis obliterans, a rare lung disease commonly known as popcorn lung.

Food safety department officials warned a McDonald's outlet in Jaipur after finding around 40 litres of cooking oil at the store unfit for consumption.
