The city of Seattle awarded $29 million (around ₹262 crore) in settlement to the family of Indian student Jaahnavi Kandula, who died in 2023 after a speeding police officer, Kevin Dave, hit and killed her. "The city hopes this financial settlement brings some...closure," attorney Erika Evans said. Dave had laughed after the accident and suggested her life had "limited value".

Indian GCCs cut up to 6,000 jobs in 2025 due to trade tariffs, AI: Report
