Anthropic flags misuse of Claude in chemical weapon development

Anthropic's Sabotage Risk Report stated that Claude Opus 4.6 model showed "concerning behaviour" when pushed to complete goals. Claude assisted in developing chemical weapons, sent unauthorised emails without human permission, and engaged in manipulation of participants. "We also observed behaviours like aggressive acquisition of authentication tokens in internal pilot usage," the report added.

China's ByteDance is developing an AI chip and is in talks with Samsung to manufacture it as the TikTok parent looks to secure a supply of advanced processors, Reuters reported.
