Under Draft Income Tax Rules 2026, buyers and sellers won't be required to quote their PAN for motor vehicle transactions below ₹5 lakh. PAN will be required for cash deposits or withdrawals of ₹10 lakh or more annually, and for hotel or restaurant payments exceeding ₹1 lakh. PAN will be mandatory for selling or purchasing immovable properties above ₹20 lakh.

Denmark is considered the world's least corrupt country, as per the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI). It was followed by Finland, Singapore, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany and Iceland. 120 students hospitalised after deworming drive in UP

Delhi to get 14 more air quality monitoring stations, each station to now cover 25 sq km

The Delhi government has announced plans to install 14 more air quality monitoring stations in FY27. CM Rekha Gupta earlier inaugurated six new Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations (CAAQMS). Combined, these will bring the total network of stations to 60, i.e., one station every 25 sq km across the 1,483-sq-km city, hence, filling coverage gaps.

Railways' new feature to help customers if money is deducted but ticket not booked

The IRCTC has introduced a resume/retry booking feature to help customers in cases where their money is deducted, but the ticket hasn't been booked. Now, through the iPay gateway, customers can reuse the same amount to book a ticket on same day. However, the transaction amount has to be the same. With this feature, customers won't need other payment platforms.
