27-year-old techie arrested in Andhra linked to 62 break-ins, used BMW for recce of homes

Achchi Mahesh Reddy, a 27-year-old software engineer working in a Hyderabad firm, who was arrested in Visakhapatnam over house burglaries, has been linked to 62 break-ins. Officials said he would drive BMW he bought through stolen proceeds while conducting a recce of homes where the owners were away. They added that he craved a lavish lifestyle, which he couldn't afford.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor appeared to have knowingly shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein from his official work as trade envoy in 2010 and 2011, the newly released files showed. SC asks govt to adopt RBI's SOP, which allows freezing debit cards in fraud cases

Supreme Court on Monday directed government to formally adopt the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) drafted by RBI for banks to deal with digital frauds and implement it across the country. The SOP prescribes action by banks whereby temporary debit holds can be placed to prevent cyber-enabled frauds. SC has also asked for a framework for compensation in digital arrest cases.

The BCCI on Monday announced annual player contracts for men's senior team for 2025-26 season. Ex-captains Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been demoted to Grade B from Grade A+.
