India signs terms of reference for trade talks with 6 Gulf nation-bloc after EU, US deals

India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have signed the terms of reference to begin negotiations for a free trade deal on Thursday. This comes after India finalised trade deals with the European Union, which includes 27 countries, and the US. The GCC is a six-nation bloc that includes the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman.

Pay 25% of pending DA to 20 lakh govt employees by March 31: SC to WB govt

The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the West Bengal government to clear 25% of pending DA (Dearness Allowance) from 2008 to 2019 for nearly 20 lakh state government employees by March 31. 21-yr-old IIT Bombay student dies by suicide

A 21-year-old civil engineering student at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay died by suicide after jumping off the terrace of a nine-storey hostel building on Wednesday. The student waited on the terrace for nearly 10 minutes before jumping off, police said. The deceased was suffering from depression and had earlier sought help from Student Wellness Center on campus, it added.

1st tranche of India-US trade deal ready, joint statement likely in days: Piyush Goyal
