12 women in live-in relationships get protection, HC says 'live-ins not a crime'

A live-in relationship cannot be called illegal and living together without marriage is not an offence, the Allahabad High Court said, while ordering protection for 12 women who alleged a threat to life. The HC instructed police chiefs of the districts concerned to provide immediate protection to them. Petitioners claimed they approached police but no attention was paid to them.

TikTok signs deal to sell US unit to American investors

China's ByteDance said it signed binding agreements with three major investors to form a joint venture to operate TikTok's US app, aiming to avoid a US government ban. ED restores over ₹300 cr for ex-employees of Kingfisher Airlines

The ED on Thursday said it has restituted funds worth over ₹300 crore towards long-pending dues of ex-employees of the now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines. Assam gives ultimatum to 15 'declared foreigners', asks them to leave India within 24 hrs

Fifteen people from Assam, who had been declared foreigners, have been directed to leave India within 24 hours in an invocation of the 1950 Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act, The Indian Express reported.
