Anna Hazare to launch hunger strike for Lokayukta implementation in Maha

Anna Hazare will begin an indefinite hunger strike on January 30 in Maharashtra's Ralegan Siddhi over the state government's failure to implement the Lokayukta Act. He had earlier gone on a strike over the same issue in 2022, following which a Bill was drafted and sent to the President. However, Hazare says the anti-corruption law has still not been implemented.

Delhi Metro begins work on Golden Line

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) started construction on the Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block corridor of the new Golden Line on Friday. The project will comprise 08 metro stations – Lajpat Nagar, Andrews Ganj, GK-1, Chirag Delhi, Pushpa Bhawan, Saket District Centre, Pushp Vihar, and Saket G Block. The groundbreaking ceremony was held at Pushpa Bhawan near Saket.

Ultra-hot super-Earth with 10-hour year found

Astronomers have discovered an ultra-hot super-Earth named TOI-561 b that completes a full orbit around its star in just about 10 hours. Researchers used NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope and found that the rocky exoplanet lies extremely close to its star. It causes surface temperatures high enough to melt rock. Govt clarifies if in-hand salary will reduce under new Labour Codes

Ministry of Labour and Employment has shared a post to address widespread concerns among salaried workers about new Labour Codes. It said the new Labour Codes do not reduce take-home pay if PF deduction is on statutory wage ceiling. Govt body forms committee against vehicular pollution in Delhi-NCR

CAQM, the central government's body to control air pollution, set up an expert committee on Friday to tackle vehicular pollution in the Delhi-NCR region. The expert panel will be led by Ashok Jhunjhunwala, Professor, IIT Madras and will submit its recommendations within a period of two months. Delhi to set up 13 mini secretariats as revenue districts are reorganised

Delhi will set up 13 mini secretariats- one in each revenue district- to bring key government offices under one roof and improve public convenience, officials said on Friday.
