Nearly 9 lakh Indians gave up citizenship in last 5 years: Govt

Nearly 9 lakh Indians renounced their citizenship in the past five years, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh told Rajya Sabha on Thursday. According to official data, 85,256 Indians renounced their citizenship in 2020, 1,63,370 in 2021, 2,25,620 in 2022, 2,16,219 in 2023 and 2,06,378 in 2024.

'Humiliated' by Yunus, B'desh Prez wants to step down before completing term

Bangladeshi President Mohammed Shahabuddin told Reuters that he intends to step down from his post before completing his term. He said he would quit after parliamentary election on February 12. NIA raids home of man linked to Pune ISIS module case in J'khand

NIA on Thursday raided the house of a man named Shahnawaz Alam, linked to the Pune ISIS module case in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh. The NIA team recovered a printing machine from the house and said that some kind of documents, posters or objectionable material were being printed there. Shahnawaz Alam was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell in October 2023.

Stones thrown at PSG bus post UCL draw vs Athletic Club in Spain

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) team bus was struck by stones outside their hotel in Spain's Bilbao after the team drew 0-0 against Athletic Club in UEFA Champions League match. According to reports, the bus was empty at time of incident and PSG players and staff were able to safely travel to airport. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the incident.

30 killed in Myanmar after military airstrike hits hospital

At least 30 people were killed and several others were injured after an airstrike by the country's ruling military hit a hospital in Myanmar's western Rakhine state.
