Half of India's at-home protein intake comes from low-quality cereals, study finds

Nearly half of all protein eaten in India now comes from basic grains like rice, wheat, semolina and refined flour, found an analysis by Council on Energy, Environment and Water. Results show that though the average Indian family consumes 55.6 grams of protein daily, which is approximately in line with national norms, cereals account for about half of total consumption.

Nearly 9 lakh Indians renounced their citizenship in the past five years, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh told Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
