Painting of Jesus lost for hundreds of years sells for β‚Ή24 crore in France

A long-lost painting depicting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ sold for $2.7 million (around β‚Ή24.17 crore) at an auction in France's Versailles on Sunday. The artwork, created by Flemish Baroque master Peter Paul Rubens, was reportedly lost in the early 1600s and was found recently in a private townhouse in Paris. The scene was depicted by Rubens only once.

Guyanese oil begins 18,000-km voyage to India amid Russia curbs

Two supertankers, each loaded with about two million barrels of oil, have started a nearly 18,000-km voyage from Guyana to India, Bloomberg reported. This comes as the US' sanctions on Russian oil have prompted Indian refiners to seek alternatives. These crude shipments from Guyana, the first since 2021, are expected to arrive in India in January.
