Election Commission doubles pay for BLOs from ₹6,000 to ₹12,000

Election Commission doubled remuneration for Booth Level Officers from ₹6,000 to ₹12,000. It also enhanced remuneration of BLO Supervisors from ₹12,000 to ₹18,000 and honorarium has been provided for EROs and AEROs for first time. EC said last such revision was done in 2015. Besides this, a special incentive of ₹6,000 for BLOs for SIR in Bihar was also announced.

30-year-old Indian student stabbed to death in UK

Cross-LoC trade is intra-state since PoK part of India: J&K HC

The J&K and Ladakh High Court held that cross-LoC trade with Pakistan-occupied Kashmir constitutes intra-state trade under GST since PoK is legally part of the erstwhile J&K state. MF investment into REITs to be treated as equity from Jan: SEBI

Investments by mutual funds and specialised investment funds in real estate investment trusts (REITs) will be considered as equity-related investments, starting January 2026, SEBI said. However, the reclassification exempted existing investments in REITs held by debt schemes of mutual funds as of December 31. InvITs will continue to be classified as hybrid instruments.
