India has responded to remarks by Pakistan about PM Narendra Modi raising a sacred flag at Ayodhya's Ram Mandir. "We've seen the reported remarks and reject them with the contempt they deserve. As a country with a deeply stained record of bigotry, repression, and systemic mistreatment of its minorities, Pakistan has no moral standing to lecture others," MEA said.

India gets hosting rights of CWG after 20 years, Ahmedabad chosen as host city

The Commonwealth Sport's General Assembly in Glasgow confirmed Ahmedabad as the host of the 2030 Commonwealth Games. It will be the second time that India will host the Commonwealth Games after the 2010 edition in Delhi. The 2022 edition of the quadrennial event took place in England's Birmingham, while the 2026 edition is scheduled to be held in Scotland's Glasgow.

Gold prices jump to hit near 2-week high in India

Gold prices surged ₹1,200 to hit near a two-week high of ₹1,30,100 per 10 grams in Delhi on Wednesday, according to the All India Sarafa Association. On November 13, gold of 99.9% closed at ₹1,30,900 per 10 grams. In the global markets, spot gold climbed by $33.50 or 0.81% to $4,164.30 per ounce.

36 dead, 279 missing as massive fire engulfs multiple high-rise residential towers in Hong Kong

Thirty-six people have been killed as massive fire engulfed multiple high-rise residential towers in Hong Kong's northern Tai Po district, the city's leader John Lee said. At least 279 people are still unaccounted for, he added, with several dozen hospitalised. More than 800 firefighters and paramedics, with 140 fire engines have been deployed to deal with the blaze.

2 soldiers shot in terrorist attack near White House

Two National Guard soldiers were shot on Wednesday near the White House, with officials calling it a targeted ambush. The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who came to US in 2021 on a special visa program. US ends immigration from Afghanistan after terrorist attack near White House

The Assam Assembly today passed Assam Prohibition of Polygamy Bill, 2025. The Bill is aimed at prohibiting and eliminating practices of polygamy and polygamous marriage in Assam and matters connected therewith and incidental thereto. Air quality slips to severe category in parts of Delhi

The air quality in parts of Delhi deteriorated to the severe category on Friday. In Anand Vihar, the AQI was recorded at 403 at 9:00 am, at 405 in Okhla Phase-2 and at 412 in Wazirpur.
