Justice Surya Kant took oath as the 53rd Chief Justice of India (CJI) on Monday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath to Kant, who will remain in office for 14 months. Born in Haryana, he became a Supreme Court judge in 2019 and has been involved in key cases, like Article 370, sedition law and Pegasus.

Who was British Indian spy Noor whom France honoured with a stamp?

Noor Inayat Khan, a descendant of Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan, has been honoured by France with a commemorative postage stamp. Born in Moscow to an Indian Sufi father and an American mother, she later lived in London and Paris. Recruited into Special Operations Executive in 1943, she was captured by Nazi forces and executed at Dachau in 1944, aged 30.

Indian Navy inducts indigenous shallow-water 'silent hunter' INS Mahe

The Indian Navy has commissioned the indigenous INS Mahe, the first of the Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft, in Mumbai on Monday. "She will serve as a 'Silent Hunter' on the Western Seaboard - powered by self-reliance and dedicated to safeguarding India’s maritime frontiers," the press release stated. Its crest features the flexible sword of Kalaripayattu 'Urumi'.

How are points scored in F1 racing?

Only drivers who finish in the top 10 of a Formula One race earn points. The race winner gets 25 points, followed by 18 for second and 15 for third. 2 nursing students dead as Vande Bharat runs over them in K'taka

Two first-year BSc Nursing students died after being run over by a speeding Vande Bharat Express near Karnataka's Chikkabanavara railway station. The victims, 19-year-old Sterlin Eliza Shaji and 20-year-old Justin Joseph from Kerala, were crossing the railway track on way back to PG when the accident occurred.
