Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), initially led by Elon Musk, disbanded eight months before its term ended. "It doesn't exist," Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor told Reuters. DOGE was set up in January 2025 to reduce government spending and improve efficiency in the US federal government. It claimed to have slashed tens of billions of dollars in expenditures.
