Not feeling well: Teen to father before dying by suicide after assault for not speaking Marathi

A 19-year-old student, Arnav Laxman Khaire, from Maharashtra's Kalyan, who died by suicide after being beaten up for not speaking in Marathi, had called his father after the assault. "Papa, I'm not feeling well," Arnav told his father. After Arnav reached home, he called his father again to inform him about the assault on a local train.

China cancels all concerts with Japanese musicians amid tensions

Release of salary made mandatory by 7th of every month for IT workers

The new labour code released by Centre on November 21 mandates salary disbursement by the 7th of every month for employees in the IT and IT-enabled services (ITES) sectors. Further, equal pay for equal work has also been made mandatory for IT employees. The code also directs IT and ITES firms to facilitate night shifts for women in all establishments.

Rupee hits record low against US dollar after sinking 93 paise

Gratuity eligibility for fixed-term employees cut from 5 years to 1

With implementation of four new labour codes, appointment letters have been made mandatory for all workers. All workers, including gig and platform workers, will get PF, ESIC, insurance, and other social security benefits. Employers will have to provide all workers above 40 years of age with free annual health check-up. It's now also mandatory for employers to provide timely wages.

Gold, silver prices fall for 2nd day in a row in India

Gold and silver prices have fallen for the second day in a row in India. Gold prices declined by ₹600 to ₹1,26,100 per 10 grams in Delhi on Friday, according to the All India Sarafa Association. The IMD has issued heavy to very heavy rainfall for several states/Union Territories for Sunday and Monday.
