1-day paid monthly menstrual leave for women approved in Karnataka

The Karnataka government approved menstrual leave for women, allowing them to take a paid leave once every month. "Women can take as many as 12 sanctioned leaves in a year," said Karnataka minister Santosh Lad. "It is a feather in the cap of a progressive government which thinks for the welfare of women," he added.

World’s first pig-to-human liver transplant keeps man alive for 171 days

Surgeons in China performed the world's first pig-to-human liver transplant on a 71-year-old man suffering from liver cancer and hepatitis B-related cirrhosis. The procedure, led by Dr Beicheng Sun of Anhui Medical University, extended the patient's life by 171 days. He was ineligible for a human liver transplant due to his advanced cancer.

Corporate spending on CEOs' private jet travel soars 76%: Report

Over half of the 500 largest US companies now pay their CEOs to fly private, despite reducing headcounts to cut costs, WSJ reported. Their collective spending on private air travel has jumped 76.7% since 2020.
