50% tariff on India a big blow to Russia: Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump said the Russian economy isn't doing well because it has been "very well disturbed" by tariffs. Referring to imposing 50% tariff on India over Russian oil imports, Trump added, "Doesn't help when...US President tells [Russia's] largest or second-largest oil buyer...we're putting...50% tariff on you if you buy oil from Russia. That was a big blow."

Gold will not be tariffed, says Trump

Trial ordered in 11-year-old defamation case filed by MS Dhoni seeking β‚Ή100 crore damages

India bans imports via land routes of more jute products from Bangladesh

World's largest jute producer India has expanded its ban on jute products from Bangladesh, world's second-largest jute producer, via land routes amid strained relations. New products added to the banned list include bleached and unbleached woven fabrics, twines, cordages, ropes, cables, sacks and bags of jute. The imports of these products from Bangladesh is allowed only through Nhava Sheva port.

Scientists at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory heated gold to about 33,740Β°F using ultrafast laser pulses. The metal stayed solid despite reaching 14 times its melting point. India's retail inflation slipped to 1.55% in July from 2.10% in June, government data showed. "There's...decline of 55 basis points in...headline inflation of July, 2025, in comparison to June, 2025.
