Anil Ambani summoned by ED for misusing Yes Bank's loans worth ₹3,000 crore

Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Anil Ambani on August 5 in connection with allegations of illegal diversion of loans, worth around ₹3,000 crore, disbursed by Yes Bank. This comes days after the agency conducted raids for at least three days at over 35 locations linked to Ambani. ED is also probing if Yes Bank officials were bribed to avail the loan.

Scientists use AI to discover 5 materials to replace lithium-ion batteries

New Jersey Institute of Technology researchers used generative AI to discover five porous transition metal oxide structures that could replace lithium-ion batteries. Lead researcher Dibakar Datta said these materials have large channels allowing bulky multivalent ions to move quickly and safely. Using abundant elements like magnesium, calcium and zinc, they offer a cost-effective alternative.

India batter Karun Nair scored 52*(98) on Day 1 of The Oval Test against England. The 33-year-old hit a Test fifty after 3,149 days. His previous fifty-plus Test score came in December 2016, when he scored 303* against England. India break their record for most runs in a Test series

India surpassed their highest run tally in a Test series on Day 1 of the Oval Test, having scored 3,393 runs in the ongoing five-match series against England. Their previous best tally was 3,270 runs in a six-match home series against West Indies during 1978-79 season. India's current tally is also the highest series aggregate for any team since 1995.
