South Africa stand-in captain Wiaan Mulder gave up the chance to overtake former West Indies captain Brian Lara's world record knock of 400*(582). Mulder declared South Africa's first innings in the second Test against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo at 626/5 while he was batting on 367*(334). Mulder's 367* is the highest score by a batter in an away Test match.

Gang member who worked as cab driver during day held after 3 years

A 34-year-old man, who was a cab driver by day in Mumbai and a member of the Neeraj Bawana gang by night, was caught by Delhi Police after evading arrest for three years. The accused was declared a proclaimed offender in a 2022 arms trafficking case. Police said he played a role in supplying firearms even after relocating to Mumbai.

SEBI proposes relaxation for Asset Management Companies

SEBI has proposed a review of the regulatory framework for the business activities of Asset Management Companies (AMCs) of Mutual Funds, Moneycontrol reported. It has reportedly proposed allowing mutual funds to act as a point of presence for pension funds, to act as global distributor of funds, subject to conditions. It has sought feedback till July 28 on the proposals.

3 students killed, several injured as train crashes into school van in Tamil Nadu
