First-ever artificial solar eclipse created in space

The European Space Agency's Proba-3 mission has created the first-ever artificial solar eclipse in space. The mission's two satellites, Coronagraph and Occulter, flew 150 metres apart in perfect formation with millimetre accuracy for several hours to create the eclipse. Occulter blocked the Sun's disk to cast a shadow onto Coronagraph's ASPIICS instrument, which captured images of solar corona.

Israel kills Iran's top military commander 4 days after he was appointed to post

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Tuesday said it has eliminated Iran's war-time Chief of Staff Ali Shadmani, who was appointed to the post four days ago. Shadmani, Iran's senior-most military official and Ayatollah Khamenei's closest military advisor, was killed in an airstrike in Tehran, IDF said. Shadmani's predecessor Lt Gen Gholamali Rashid was also killed in a recent Israeli attack.

Astronomers at Caltech and CfA have located the universe's 'missing' matter using powerful radio bursts from 69 cosmic locations. They discovered it was hidden as thinly spread gas in vast space between galaxies. Air India cancels Delhi to Paris flight after 'issue' identified during checks

Air India on Tuesday cancelled its Delhi to Paris flight after an issue came to the fore during mandatory pre-flight checks. "In view of the flight coming under the restrictions on night operations at Paris' CDG airport, the said flight has been cancelled," the company's spokesperson said. The Bombay High Court has ordered the BCCI to pay β‚Ή538 crore to the now-defunct IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala (KTK), upholding a 2015 arbitral award.
