POCSO case closed against former WFI chief Brij Bhushan

Delhi's Patiala House court has closed sexual harassment case filed against ex-Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The court accepted the cancellation report filed by Delhi Police on June 15, 2023. Brij was earlier charged with sexual harassment in separate cases lodged by six women wrestlers.

Hamas accepts US' proposal on Gaza ceasefire

Hamas has agreed to a proposal by US special envoy Steve Witkoff for a Gaza ceasefire, a Palestinian official told Reuters. The new proposal, which sees the release of ten hostages and 70 days of truce, was received by Hamas through mediators, Reuters added. However, there has been no statement on the truce deal by Israel yet.

Deadline to file income tax returns extended from July 31 to Sept 15

CBDT has decided to extend the due date of filing of income tax returns (ITRs), which are due for filing by July 31 to September 15, 2025. "This extension will provide more time due to significant revisions in ITR forms, system development needs and TDS credit reflections. This ensures a smoother and more accurate filing experience," Income Tax Department said.

12 TB of data recovered from 'spy' YouTuber Jyoti's devices: Report
