Judge blocks Trump's order banning Harvard from enrolling foreign students

US District Judge Allison Burroughs has blocked an order by the Donald Trump administration banning Harvard University from enrolling foreign students. This would provide temporary relief to thousands of students, including nearly 788 Indian students. Harvard earlier sued the administration, calling the ban unconstitutional, and said, "Without its international students, Harvard is not Harvard."

Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji's pay doubles, still less than CEO's

Wipro's Executive Chairman Rishad Premji's compensation for FY25 more than doubled to $1,609,720 (β‚Ή13.71 crore), according to a company filing. However, Premji's earnings remained significantly lower than the company's CEO & MD, Srinivas Pallia, whose FY25 compensation stood at $6,279,283 (β‚Ή53.48 crore). In FY24, Premji had voluntarily taken a 20% pay cut and foregone his commission.

Over 20,000 Indians killed in 40 yrs: India as Pak brings up Indus Treaty at UN

Russia launches massive drone, missile attack on Ukraine

Russia launched a large-scale drone and missile attack on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, overnight into Saturday, injuring at least eight people. Explosions and machine gun fire were heard throughout the city, forcing many Kyiv residents to take shelter in underground subway stations. Indians lost β‚Ή136 crore on failed Schengen visa applications in 2024: Report

India has emerged as the third-highest contributor to financial losses from rejected Schengen visa applications in 2024, with β‚Ή136 crore lost in non-refundable fees, said a report. Rejection rate stands at 15%, as per data from European Commission. The other 2 countries are Algeria and Turkey. Most of the visas were rejected by France, followed by Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Netherlands.
