Ashoka University professor gets 14-day jail for remark on Op Sindoor briefing

Ashoka University professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad has been sent to 14-day judicial custody after being arrested for alleged objectionable remarks on Operation Sindoor briefing by Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sofiya Qureshi. The Sonepat District Court gave the order and scheduled next hearing in the case for May 27. Khan was arrested on Sunday (May 18) by Delhi Police.

RBI cancels HCBL Bank's license as it didn't have money, says 'Its ops harmful to depositors'

RBI has cancelled the license of Lucknow-based HCBL Co-operative Bank, following which the bank has ceased all operations. In a notice published on Monday, RBI said the license was cancelled as the bank doesn't have enough money to operate and neither has "adequate earning prospects". "The continuance of the bank is prejudicial to the interests of its depositors," RBI said.

China unveils world's 1st drone mothership, can launch 100+ drones

China is planning to launch Jiu Tian SS-UAV, world's first "drone mothership" aircraft, capable of releasing more than 100 AI-guided kamikaze drones during high-altitude missions. It can fly at 15,000 metres high, has a range of 7,000 km and can carry up to six tonnes of ammunition. The drones would be used for surveillance, decoys, electronic warfare and precision targeting.

Schedule for IPL 2025 playoffs announced
