The Attari-Wagah border between India and Pakistan, which was shut after tensions rose between both countries in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, was opened for stranded Afghan trucks. The trucks mostly carried dry fruits, with traders welcoming this move. "We are hoping that all trucks will cross over into India in a week," a trader said.

West intends to pit India against China: Russian minister Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Western countries want to provoke a confrontation between India and China. Rafale maker Dassault Aviation stock nears all-time high after India-Pakistan conflict

HAL expects to deliver 1st LCA Mk1A to IAF in couple of months, 12 to be delivered in 2025

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) expects to deliver 12 Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk1A to Indian Air Force this year, the PSU's management said on Friday. The first jet is expected to roll out in next couple of months, with HAL planning one manufacturing line each in Bengaluru and Nashik. Man who stabbed Rushdie, blinding him in 1 eye, jailed for 25 yrs

The 27-year-old man who stabbed author Salman Rushdie on stage in New York in 2022 and blinded him in one eye, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison. The man, identified as Hadi Matar, was found guilty of attempted murder. Matar's motivation for trying to kill Rushdie stemmed from a 2006 speech delivered by slain Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.

American urban warfare expert, Colonel (Retd) John Spencer, said the defence systems of China and Pakistan are no match for India's BrahMos missile. The BCCI on Thursday congratulated Ravindra Jadeja for setting world record for becoming longest reigning number one Test all-rounder (1,152 days). However, the world record is held by Garfield Sobers, who was ranked number one Test all-rounder from February 20, 1962 and March 10, 1974 (4,402 days). Men are more likely to die of broken heart syndrome than women: Study

According to a Journal of the American Heart Association study, 'broken heart syndrome' kills men at more than double the rate of women. Analysing data from 2016-2020, researchers found an 11.2% mortality rate among men versus 5.5% for women. 'Broken heart syndrome', a stress-induced condition also known as takotsubo cardiomyopathy, affects heart function during extreme emotional/physical events.

Truck rolls back on slope, misses woman on scooter by inches in Kerala

A Kerala woman had a near-death experience after a truck lost control on an incline and rolled backwards into her scooter, throwing her on the road to Kozhikode Medical College. The vehicle then crushed the scooter and continued rolling until it came to a halt after hitting a roadside tree. A video shows the truck missing her by inches.

10 people killed in Manipur encounter were Myanmar nationals
