Diamond prices crash, nearly halve in 4.5 years
The price of natural diamonds has been seeing a sharp decline in the past 4.5 years, as it has nearly halved since March 2022, as per data available on IDEX's Diamond Index. The index was at 158.16 on March 5, 2022, and has since fallen 48% to 82.13. The rise in popularity of lab-grown diamonds is driving the price dip.

India's wholesale inflation eased slightly to 9.78% in July from 9.87% in June, government data showed.
