Bengaluru-based AI startup Sarvam has roped in Devendra Singh Chaplot as a part-time advisor from Elon Musk's xAI. Before joining xAI in March this year, Chaplot was also a part of the founding teams of AI startup Mistral and former OpenAI Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati's Thinking Machines Lab. This comes after Sarvam opened a new office in San Francisco.

India became a major arms exporter to Israel after Hamas-led October 2023 attack, shipping 2,596 consignments of small arms and military vehicle components, an Amnesty International report said. Exports included 3,90,516 military-grade small arms parts, 5,64,970 explosive ordnance components and 298 military vehicle components. Historically, India had been a net importer of Israeli military goods.

India's gold demand falls 6% Y-o-Y as demand value rises 50%

India's gold demand fell 6% year-on-year to 131.4 tonnes in the April to June quarter from 139.7 tonnes in the same period last year, according to data released by the World Gold Council. The country's gold demand value grew 50% year on year to ₹1,98,100 crore from ₹1,32,500 crore last year. Total jewellery demand decreased by 15% from last year.

₹600 crore benami assets, piles of cash found in raids on coal mafia in Jharkhand
