Worst thing to do: SC on wife writing to husband's employer in matrimonial dispute

The Supreme Court strongly deplored the practice of estranged wives writing to their husbands' employers during ongoing matrimonial disputes. Calling it "one of the worst things a wife could do", the SC said that "it could cost the husband his job and leave little basis for any future maintenance claim". A wife had written to Indian Air Force authorities.

Everyday goods see more price hikes than cuts, home care sees biggest jump

FMCG companies have raised prices on far more products than they have cut over the past two months, a CLSA survey showed. Since May, 252 of the 310 products with price changes became costlier, while only 58 saw price cuts. The sharpest price hikes were seen in the home care segment, where average prices rose 5.8%, followed by personal care.

Pune bans entry of heavy vehicles to prevent traffic congestion during monsoon

Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has prohibited heavy and oversized vehicles from entering the city until further orders to prevent traffic congestion caused by waterlogging and vehicle breakdowns during the monsoon. UPI users cross 55 crore as FY26 transactions hit β‚Ή314 lakh crore

The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) had 55.49 crore users as of June 2026. UPI transactions totalled β‚Ή314.23 lakh crore in FY26, up from β‚Ή260.56 lakh crore in FY25. Introduced in 2016 by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) under the central bank's supervision, UPI is India's real-time digital payments system.
