Big businesses may soon have to pay for UPI: Report

India may soon reintroduce merchant charges on some UPI transactions, marking a potential shift from its nearly six-year zero-fee policy, according to The Economic Times. The proposal suggests charging a merchant discount rate (MDR) only for large businesses with annual turnover of around ₹1 crore to ₹1.5 crore. The fee may apply only to UPI transactions above ₹2,000.

Dabur India reduces bonuses of CEO, group director by 50% in FY26

Dabur India halved performance-linked incentives of CEO Mohit Malhotra and Group Director of Corporate Affairs PD Narang in FY26, lowering their overall remuneration. Malhotra's performance-linked bonus fell to ₹1.63 crore from ₹3.25 crore year-on-year, reducing his annual pay 3.1% to ₹15.35 crore. Narang's bonus also fell to ₹1.77 crore from ₹3.54 crore, with total remuneration at ₹17.09 crore.

49 years after murder, SC acquits UP man who has served life term

The Supreme Court, calling the prosecution's story doubtful, acquitted UP's Hiral Lal and two others in connection with a murder that took place in 1977.
