Former SL cricketer Rumesh Tharanga beats Neeraj's best with Asia's 2nd longest javelin throw

Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga, who bowled at 134 kmph as a teenage cricketer before switching to javelin, won Rome Diamond League with a 92.62m throw on Thursday. The 23-year-old beat two-time world champion Anderson Peters. His national record surpassed Neeraj Chopra's 90.23m best and became the second-longest Asian throw after Pakistans' Arshad Nadeem's 92.97m at Paris Olympics.

CBSE’s OSM contract value rose by ₹10 crore for same workload: Report

CBSE's OSM contract value for Coempt Edu Teck rose from ₹28 crore to ₹38.46 crore for the same 23.8 million answer-script workload, Hindustan Times reported. However, OSM was implemented only for Class 12, with 9.86 million answer books scanned. At ₹25.74 per booklet, the actual payable value comes to ₹25.39 crore, the report added.

Govt allows overseas individuals to invest in equities via PIS

The government has notified the Foreign Exchange Management (Non-Debt Instruments) (Third Amendment) Rules, 2026, allowing individual Persons Resident Outside India (PROIs) to invest in Indian equities through the Portfolio Investment Scheme (PIS). The investment limit has been raised from 5% to 10% in any company. Earlier, this route was available only to NRIs and OCIs.
