Wives not deemed maids, refusal to do household chores not cruelty: Bombay HC

The Bombay High Court set aside divorce granted to a chartered accountant who alleged cruelty over his wife's refusal to cook, clean and obey his parents. The court said marriage is a partnership of equals, not a service contract, adding that wives are not "deemed maids". It ordered him to pay โ‚น20,000 monthly maintenance over his earning capacity and inflation.

Clashes erupt in Mumbai society over shelter for goat sacrifice on Eid

A dispute over construction of a shed to house goats for Eid sacrifice inside residential complex turned violent in Mumbai's Mira Road. Structure was dismantled following protests by residents and Hindu organisations. Later that night, goats were allegedly brought back to shed, triggering clashes in which a VHP worker was reportedly injured. Following violence, goats were moved out of society.

IMD issues yellow alert for heatwave in Delhi

Air India & IndiGo to begin cutting domestic flights from June 1: Report

Air India and IndiGo will be cutting flights on domestic sectors from June 1 amid rising jet fuel costs, TNIE reported. Eli Lilly tests therapy that can permanently cut bad cholesterol & stop heart attacks

Eli Lilly announced positive study results for a gene therapy named 'VERVE-102' that can edit the PCSK9 gene to permanently cut levels of LDL cholesterol, also called bad cholesterol, and prevent heart attacks. A single dose of VERVE-102 cut PCSK9 levels by 51-88% and lowered bad cholesterol by up to 62%. Both levels remained curtailed for up to 18 months.
